Whether you are interested in volunteering for a day, or joining us on a regular basis, we are grateful that you are joining the fight to end hunger.

Sorting

Weekdays:
8:30am – 11:30am or 12:30pm – 3:30pm

Food Sorting in the Production Hall
Help sort donated food and/or re-package bulk food items in preparation for shipping to Daily Bread member food banks in the city.

Picking

Weekdays:
9:00am – 12:00pm or 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Order Picking in the Warehouse
Help fulfill food orders from member agencies by picking pre-packaged food boxes from shelves and stacking them on pallets.

Prepping

Weekdays:
8:30am – 11:30am or 12:30pm – 3:30pm

Kitchen Assistance
Help prepare soups and casseroles for meal programs across the city, as well as our on-site Community Meal, and daily lunch service.

Serving

Thursday evenings only: 4:00pm – 7:30pm

Community Meal Program
In this client-facing role, volunteers help with setting up, serving, and clean-up for our weekly community dinner service.

Assisting

Weekdays:
8:30am – 4:30pm

Administrative Roles
Help administrative staff by volunteering at our Welcome Centre, fundraising, finance, and/or other departments.

Supporting

As needed, various shifts available.

Special Events
Help support our seasonal food drives by registering as a Special Event volunteer. You will receive notices of our upcoming Public Food Sorts and food-raising activities that need extra volunteer support.

Serving

Weekday and weekend shifts available

Food Bank
Assist food bank clients with check-in and check-out, support clients during their shopping experience and maintain food bank stock. Excellent people and service skills are a must.

Youth Volunteering

Anytime and in your neighbourhood.

Take Action Project (TAP) for Youth 
You can earn your community service/volunteer hours while helping to end hunger in Toronto by hosting a food drive in your neighbourhood. 

For every 25 non-perishable food items you collect for donation to Daily Bread Food Bank, you will earn one volunteer hour. Register here and please ensure you check the box that says “I’m a high school student interested in earning volunteer hours.”
