Make the Season Kind

CBC School Challenge

Looking for an engaging way to teach your students about food insecurity and poverty?

As part of CBC’s annual holiday campaign, Make the Season Kind, Daily Bread Food Bank, Feed Ontario, and food banks across the province have partnered with the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario to launch the CBC School Challenge, which invites classrooms to explore how food insecurity affects your community.

The Challenge is open to all publicly funded elementary schools across Ontario.

How to participate:
  1. Register your class using the form below.
  2. Download the CBC School Challenge toolkit and resources. Inside the toolkit you’ll find activities and lesson ideas that build to a culminating project for your Challenge submission.
  3. Submit your entry on or before 3:00pm EST on December 20, 2024.
  4. Outstanding submissions will be announced by the CBC on January 20, 2025.

We are grateful to the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario for their partnership and collaboration in preparing resources for the Challenge.
