As Ontario heads to the polls on February 27, Daily Bread Food Bank and LAMP Community Health Centre, in collaboration with our partners, are co-hosting an Etobicoke-Lakeshore candidates debate.
In 2024, Daily Bread member food banks served over 3.75 million client visits — the highest number in our history and a 26% increase compared to the year prior.
The cost of living is just too steep. Even with higher education and household employment, people are struggling to afford basic necessities. This clearly highlights the severity of systemic issues such as the lack of affordable housing, inadequate social assistance rates, and precarious work.
The upcoming debate is a valuable opportunity for residents to hear directly from candidates about how they plan to address core challenges affecting Ontarians.
