On June 5, 2023, we were excited to welcome the Toronto Argonauts to Daily Bread Food Bank!
In celebration of their 150th season, Argos team members along with Pinball Clemons, General Manager, and MLSE staff members stopped by our warehouse for a day of volunteering and giving back! Additionally, the team delivered a generous donation of $75,000 that will go towards supporting essential food programs for our city.
“We are deeply grateful to the Toronto Argos for their dedication and commitment to making our city a better place through community engagement,” said Neil Hetherington, CEO, Daily Bread Food Bank. “As food bank visits continue to rise, this donation will have a profound impact on tens of thousands of Torontonians facing food insecurity.”
Armed with a willingness to give back and showing that team spirit isn’t just limited to the football field, Dejon Allen, Chad Kelly and Shawn Oakman spent the morning sorting and packing much needed food donations to be distributed across the city to families experiencing hunger.
“If we forget our neighbours, we are no longer a community”, said Pinball Clemons, General Manager, Toronto Argos, while addressing volunteers and staff at Daily Bread.
