The Daily Bread Food Bank team has been in constant motion since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the city mid-March. It hasn’t been easy as we’ve had to adjust in both extraordinary and subtle ways.
More than anything, what has kept us going over the past five months is the emergence of another reality – deep compassion and widespread generosity from the community.
In the face of constant change and continued uncertainty, we wanted to take a moment to pause and say “thank you”. Thank you for stepping up – and outside of your own immediate concerns and fears – to provide a lifeline to our neighbours in need.
Despite the massive hurdles we faced during the ‘lock-down’, your generosity enabled us to adapt and respond with agility to the new landscape. It enabled us to partner in new and creative ways to deliver uninterrupted service.
We are pleased to share with you our COVID-19 Donor Report. Developed in the form of a timeline, it illustrates both the impacts of the pandemic on our city as it relates food insecurity and how, through your generosity, we collectively responded to the crisis.
Thank you again. None of this would have been possible without you.
