“On our first visit to Daily Bread Food Bank, we were impressed not only by the scope of the operation, but also their business sense – they think smart!”, says Paolo Pusateri, Marketing Manager, Pusateri’s. “We knew that working with Daily Bread aligned with our commitment to social responsibility and would allow us to make a positive impact in our community.”
Since that first visit, Pusateri’s commitment to the fight to end hunger has been invaluable. To date, they have raised over$35,000 in support of Daily Bread, through various fundraisers and in-store initiatives. In addition, they have supported our food programs through in-kind donations valued at over $22,000.
At the height of the pandemic, when food banks started to see client visits increase in unprecedented numbers, Pusateri’s saw the opportunity to step up to support the community. They started a lunch program to provide fresh, nutritious meals two days per week to clients visiting the New Toronto Street Food Bank.
Pusateri’s also takes every opportunity to involve its broader family of staff and engage community members by implementing point of sale campaigns. “Everyone has the capacity to impact change, from an individual level, through to corporate, whether it be through advocacy, volunteering your time or a monetary or food donation. It’s important to support your community” says Paolo.
