On November 28, the CPKC Holiday Train rolled into town with the mission of raising funds to support those facing food insecurity this holiday season. Hundreds of families gathered to greet Santa and watch as the 1,000-foot train, adorned in twinkling lights and holiday decorations, chugged into the station.
Revelers enjoyed live performances from the Canadian alternative rock group, Anyway Gang, and students from Downtown Vocal Music Academy provided a special choir performance, filling the air with holiday spirit and joy.
Santa Claus also made an appearance, delighting children and families who eagerly lined up to take photos and share their holiday wishes.
We would like to extend a special thank you to CPKC for their generous donation of $15,000 and to Toronto Fire Services for helping serve sweet treats and hot chocolate kindly donated by Tim Hortons to keep everyone toasty warm.
Last, but not least, we would like to thank attendees whose generosity helped Daily Bread raise an additional $3,675 and collect an impressive 2,666 pounds of food for families facing food insecurity.
