The theme for National Volunteer Week this year is The Value of One, The Power of Many and gives us the opportunity to reflect on the awe-inspiring acts of kindness by individuals AND the magic that happens when we work together towards a common purpose.
This past year, as we adjusted to the impacts of COVID-19 on our day-to-day operations, volunteers from all over the city stepped up to support our work and ensure that those in need can continue to access food during this critical time.
We have seen people supporting family, friends, neighbours, and strangers, people standing up to systemic racism, chronic poverty, and sharing insights on how to create a more just and equitable society.
Daily Bread Food Bank has had to make many changes to our operations to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and clients. This includes limiting the number of individuals that can be in our warehouse at any one time. But through these changes, one thing has remained the same: the love and care our volunteers bring every single time, and for that, we are so grateful.
We hope you will join us in saying THANK YOU to every single volunteer out there, who is giving their time, their love and their commitment to making our city a better place for all.
