A Look at How Daily Bread Food Bank Fights Hunger

Image of two volunteers packing boxes with canned goods.

Since the beginning of 2021, Daily Bread member food banks have seen an average of more than 110,000 visits each month. If current usage rates continue, we are projecting we will see 1.4 million visits to Toronto food banks this year, the highest number ever recorded in Toronto’s history.

There is work to be done, but together, we are making changes so that everyone’s right to food is realized.

Thanks to our network of generous donors and dedicated volunteers who roll up their sleeves each day, we distributed 17 million pounds of food last year to support over 170 food and meal programs in Toronto.

Ever wonder how we do it? Take a look at the flow chart below to see how it all comes together.

At Daily Bread, we believe that food is a human right. We will continue to work together to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of our communities by providing food relief, while advocating for long-term, systemic solutions to end poverty.

We hope you will continue to join us in the fight against hunger by advocatingvolunteering or making a donation.

Thank you for your support!
