Over $180,000 raised through the Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign

There are so many reasons to smile at a Holiday Smile Cookie from Tim Hortons. It’s a white chocolate sugar cookie infused with red and green sprinkles. It’s hand-decorated with an icing grin. And 100% of the proceeds for its sale go to charity.

For the second year in a row, Daily Bread Food Bank had the honour of being picked by Toronto Tim Hortons restaurant owners as their region’s Holiday Smile Cookie charity, alongside Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. This year, this sweet campaign, which ran from November 18-24, raised an incredible $180,250.55 for each benefactor. That’s a nearly 25% increase compared to last year’s results! This was the highest increase Tims recorded in any region across Canada.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” said Shauna Duff, Senior Manager, Regional Marketing at Tim Hortons. “$360,000-plus raised in seven days with two eyes and a smile. The magic of what that does.”

This support is coming at a critical time for Daily Bread. More than 1 in 10 Torontonians are relying on food banks to make ends meet. To keep up with this staggering demand, our annual food-purchasing budget has jumped from about $1.5 million pre-pandemic to $29 million this fiscal year. The need in Toronto has never been greater.

That’s why we are so grateful to Tim Hortons and everyone in the community who supported this campaign. This initiative will provide 180,000 meals to those facing hunger in our city. Another reason to smile!
