On Monday, February 15 Daily Bread Food Bank joined Chef Julian Pancer from The Chef Upstairs to set the world record for the largest virtual cooking class!
Hosted by their friends John Catucci of Big Food Bucket List and EJSE Studio, Chef Julian guided participants on how to make homemade gnocchi and tomato sauce while supporting Daily Bread Food Bank!
While this was a free event, people all around the world were invited to virtually cook with their family, friends, and neighbours, in support of Daily Bread by making a donation.
Over 1000 people from 8 countries, joined us on Family Day to set the World Record for the Largest Virtual Cooking Class, raising $45,213! That’s 45,213 nutritious meals provided to people experiencing poverty and food insecurity.
“The amount of support, energy, and generosity from our local and global communities was astounding. My hope was to create an enjoyable event for families to come together, and donate any amount they could, to those facing food insecurity. The success of this event has inspired us to host more events like this. To bring families together, and help out our local communities. See you back in the kitchen soon!”
